Jogging in GK II

Hey I'm moving to GK II in the fall. Other than heat, monsoon, etc, is there any reason a thakli white chick shouldn't go for a run in the area if she wears fairly conservative gear? Don't want to go to a gym! Are there any good parks or routes nearby?

No.

Yes.

I particularly recommend jogging to China Garden in the M block market to gorge on their sizzling prawns.

I think "Ganji" would be the more apt word...not to be confused with the other "Ganji" , which means a vest...

GK 2 has parks where you can run , if you dont want the stares wear a cap..

err, old joke, used to be an ad for Rupa (brand) ganji's.
Many girls are also named Rupa.

The advertisement goes, Rupa ki ganji pehno (wear Rupa's ganji)

The rejoinder, phir Rupa kis ki ganji pehnegi? (then who's ganji will Rupa wear?)

Hurriedly ontopic, yes, in Mumbai it is takli, and they may not understand ganji except Rupa's.

The Jahanpanah forest backs up to GK II/Masjid Moth, and it's a great area to run. There are lots of paths throughout the forest, and it is almost completely shaded. It made my runs much more enjoyable than when I ran along the street in the early morning hours.

Thumbs up

Well there are 3 good options in GK 2 itself.

1. Park at the backside of M block Market.Good lanscaping.
2.Park just at the backside of Don bosco boys convent School
3.The jahapanha city forest.9somebody already mentioned)

Plus if you want...within 2Km distance you have several more... need more info.... reply back.

cheers

I lived in the area for 1 year, really miss the place. Did see a few other foreigners about who seemed to be living in the area and they didn't get stared at in the slightest. As for jogging besides the places mentioned, in W block, theres a park on the main rd and l remember seeing many joggers going around there, even a blonde foreigner a few times.
