I love the Rajastani jewelry and all the authentic/tribel kind of jewelry-gold/silver since i wo'nt visit Rajastan this time, I was wandering if there are and where in Delhi I can find me one of those shops. And... what aboyt some good classical Indian music concerts in Delhi?and a record store for this music?... ooh, and the last 1 (not really a promise to keep )- good place for indian clothing fabrics? is it janpath? love this forum, thank for your answers! malai |

Here are some favorite spots for jewellery and clothing:
Dilli Haat (for both) Silverline in Bengali Market (jewellery) FabIndia for clothes Anokhi in Khan Market for clothes GK1, M-block market for Silver jewellery shops Those are the ones that come to mind right away. Happy shopping! Also, Cottage Emporium on Janpath for jewellery and the State Emporiums in Connaught Place for all kinds of stuff. Last edited by machadinha : Jul 6th, 2007 at 04:44. just check local newspapers and you will know a lot..you might want to check PVR Plaza and Rivoli in CP area.. The night life is pretty westernized..nothing Indian about it..except for music at some places.. you might want to try Elevates in Noida, Delhi Devil and Lizzard Lounge in South Delhi..Decible is Hotel Ashok.. There are many more.. |

You can check www.pvrcinemas.com for movie listings. You'll want the "NCR" listings, for the National Capital Region (aka Delhi and surrounds).

but in cities things have changed a lot in past few years..more commercialization, more cars, better roads, better infrastructure.. I know about Delhi, If you don't do in a particular area for couple of months, then sometimes it becomes hard to find your way or to recognize the place...due to up gradation of roads there are frequent changes and everyday you see new buildings or the old ones being renovated... |

Oh, ofcorse, I'm sure things have changed but India is still India after all. on my first visit i was in Mc'leod ganj and had great time! the 2nd time, 2 years later things have changed for the worst, for me anyway.. my best advice to myself on this is to not expect from things to be as you remeberd..

I also like the tribal silver jewelry. There was a decent store in Palika Bazzar (under CP) that sold it ("Silver Moon"????) but I don't know if they are still around. Otherwise, Santushti is a high-end place that might have some, at higher prices. |
