Deep - if you mailed that site a week ago you already knew the answer to your question previously. I'm mystified why you even put it.
That apart, some of the Delhi bookshop websites just don't answer to Indians - they cater mainly to foreigners outside India and they charge more. I tried one and never got an answer because I live here. Ended up buying the book I wanted at Full Circle Bookshop, Khan Market.

Please check if the registration number of the bus is available on your ticket. If not, please get it from the HRTC booth on the first floor of ISBT (prominently visible).

If you already have the number, go straight to the platforms and ask somebody about HRTC buses to Shimla. All buses start from the same (or nearby) platforms. Your bus will come to the platform about 15 minutes before the departure time.

Also confirm, if your ticket is for HRTC (Himachal Roadways) or HPTDC (Tourism Dept). In the latter case, the bus will start from a lane behind Chandralok building (that houses HPTDC office at Delhi) on Janpath.

BTW. If you are a nature lover, stay away from Shimla. Some of the nearby places, e.g. Kufri, Narkanda, Chail, etc. are more enjoyable. You may find accommodation at a more reasonable rates at these places.

I agree on that with you in General but Shimla still has a lot of places which are nice and relatively uncrowded, a lot of residential areas which allow for good walks..

...Kufri is as bad, if it was not for the catchment area (which is only accessible by permits) it would be nothing more than a reservoir of horse poo...

@Depression - Buses and subject to change last minute due to faults etc, hence the registration number might not be mentioned since there is no 100% gaurantee that the same bus will ply.

Shimla Bus Stations: From ISBT – to Rivoli Bust Station

Upon arrival in Shimla ISBT station (thru HPTDC or HRTC bus) early morning, will taxi take us to Rivoli Bus Station to catch early morning buses to Sarahan? What is expected cost?
If taxis don’t go to Rivoli station straight, what is the easies way considering that we will be carrying our backpacks and lift will not open till 8AM.

Nearest spot to store luggage?

To piggy-back off this thread, where is the nearest place to the Kashmere Gate ISBT to store luggage (for a few hours)? We have ten hours between the arrival of our overnight bus and our departing flight in the afternoon, and would like to spend a few hours touring Old Delhi in between. Is Old Delhi Railway Station the closest place with luggage lockers, or is there a reliable spot at the ISBT itself?

Also, if ODRS is the closest place with lockers, what is the best way to get there from the ISBT?

Cheers.

There is SUPPOSED to be a cloak room at ISBT coz the Delhi Govt has floated a tender online for persons who wish to run it.

OK, I believe I have googled and discovered the cloak room at ISBT Kashmere gate.

Read the following...

http://transport.delhigovt.nic.in/pdf/Citizen070705.pdf

Page 8, item no 19 says "Cloak room available"

Do Post a small account here is case you DO LOCATE the cloak room at ISBT K Gate.
