Indian tourist visa renewal in nepal
Ola!
I,m from the uk, I arrived roughly 10 days ago in nepal with one day left on my current 6 month indian tourist visa ,pheww(i have had 3 visa,s already "on the bounce", the last one from kathmandu) praying profusely that the statement on the nepali embassy website was incorrect quote: "Repeated applications for tourist visas will not be entertained". well i can tell you it is fact, incorrect, you can get 3 repeat visa,s from kathmandu on the trot ,for now and at the moment things are looking up here a totally different situation from the one i came across 6 month,s ago, fleeing with my friend to the closest border into bihhhhhhhhhhhar lalu land, (did a great job with the railways overloading them trains!!!!) first thing you notice, if you,ve been here before is the lack of soldiers manning the roadside and less machine gun nests set up!! ,the bus,s get to kathmandu a lot quicker and people are much more open in there views about the king, moaists are still kidnapping people, but hey, that,ll change as they,ve just signed a 12 point peace agreement in kathmandu under the kings nose, they just have to work out the nuts and bolts between them!!another job for the un, politics aside. Back to the visa . At the moment there,s just a 3 day wait for a tourist visa, but bear in mind life is fluid, so situations change!!! the cost is: 350 npr for a transit visa, 300 npr for the telex to your home country if your ok,d it,s another 3,050 npr on top for your 6 month tourist visa. i,m sure i forgot some other details? but there you are! still the cheapest place to get a visa if your in india ![]() |

Thanks, Frosty, both for the visa report and the good news that things are settling down in Nepal.
