IM Meet-up in Delhi 28th Jan

A meeting while our guest 'lightning' is here is proposed as under:

Date : 28th Jan 2005 (friday)
Time : 5.30 pm
Venue : Option #1 : Cafe' coffee day at CP (the place has held maximum meet-ups )

Option #2 : Cafe' Turtels at Khan Market

Option #3 : "eatopia" in India Habitat Centre

So everyone please confirm your being there and type in your option for the meet-up venue ( views on any other non-noisy/not-crowded places most welcome).

Radz: have a nice time at Bhartpur, look forward to see you at the meet-up and your views on photo opportunities with/with out the birds.

Lightning : Radz happen to be the official photographer of the IM meetups.

Vinay: we are missing you, hope you are having a nice time dancing with Mickey and Donald, bring lots of pics

Where are Rahulmehta, da drifter, mountaingirl, gweno and so many others from Delhi

What about people who have not attended any meet-up (in the city which has held the maximum meet-ups)....hey people come forward tomarrow is the day and its a FRIDAY....

Today is the meet-up day and here are the people who agreed to be a part of the event:

Lightning (our guest from UK), Radz, sggal (confirmed thru Radz) , ashish0608, da drifter (with his bungee experince has just confirmed)

We will miss meeting Chandra and Vinayverma's Disney adventures (he won't miss us as he will still find a good company in the meet-up at Chennai )

I am a relatively new member,(joined in Dec. '04). I would be happy to attend today's meet. Looking forward to see all of you.

I am likely to attend my first IM meet up later this evening. It seems that all the meet ups happen in coffee shops and bars..

I wonder if it would be a good idea to combine future meet-ups with a small excursion / cultural activity.. or something else of common interest.

For instance.. the gardens adjacent to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan are open to the public for a month sometime in Feb / march.. so an idea could be a visit to the gardens for perhaps an hour or so.. preceded / followed by a coffee shop / bar.. Another event in the near future is the Sting concert.. but with the crowds etc.. I am not sure..if an IM meet around the concert may be possible. but things like the Surajkund fair.. Dance or music recitals. etc.. may present interesting opportunities for IM meets.. which could be held before or after the event.

I will try to look up interesting events in the Delhi Diary/ city magazines and suggest some events which could be of broad interest.

good suggestions brightspark, we did try to work something out on these lines but nothing worked Lets see if we get everyone to agree on something today

Six people confirmed for today in the "India Mike meet-up # 32" (yes, the number includes all the impromtu meet-ups which never got reported) any last 73 minutes posts and on-the-spot drop-ins are welcome, there is room for lot more.....

....and no need to buy roses etc. to get spotted, you can spot us as the group creating most noise with atleast two people with beard, atleast two ladies and some cameras

The meeting starts at 5.30 pm and is on till ...can't say really

interesting that you guys manage good Delhi meetups. any suggestion of a Delhi meetup on LPTT gets...ignored.

i might be convinced to show if I'm in the country and you have a Bombay meetup.

Four of us made it at Cafe Coffee day: Lightning, da drifter, brightspark and me

At cafe coffee day, we had good discussions on Lightning's Tibet experiences he had thousands of pics to show us, Thanks Lightning. Finishing a round of tea/coffee we decided to move to some less-noisy place for another round of drinks.

As we moved to Imperial (suggested by Brightspark), the discussion moved to financial strength/future of India Vs China where Brightspark being a financial expert had a lot to say.

We took a round of India Gate to see if there is any possibility of catching some illuminated buildings, but did not find much lights, so we finished the day discussing cameras and photography equipment over a round of "mother dairy" icecreams...

Radz and sggal had some last minute urgent work so could not come, Lightning did Radz's job and took some pics of three of us (could not capture da drifter as he had left before camera came in action) .....Lightning, the pictures please and your comments on anything that I have missed out

Virajverma, Chandra and all the others who missed the fun ..hope to see you next time

Channamasala : not much idea on LPTT...I have only heard the name they give to meet-ups the name itself stinks. There can be better views from people who have experienced both.
