I have changed your title to reflect more what your post is about.

As for sightseeing in Delhi I suggest you take a good read of some of the threads here already, plenty of ideas there. You can also do a search within the Delhi forum with the words 'Delhi sightseeing' or "Delhi sights' that kind of thing.

Now that new stations are being added to extended/ new lines, I think Jor Bagh might be the closest to Humayan's Tomb. You would have a short rickshaw ride to get there - a bit long to walk.

Some of our Delhi members who are more acquainted with Metro developments might add further to this. I do know however the line on which Jor Bagh is one of the stations is now functioning.

Aishah is right. Jorbagh or Racecourse will be the nearest station for Humayun's tomb. It's on Rajiv Chowk (Connaught place) - Qutub Minar line.

And yes ! It's little long for a walk to the tomb.

Near the metro station you have Lodhi Garden and Safdarjung's Tomb and near Humayun's tomb you have a renowned Sufi Saint, Hazrat Nizamuddin's Dargah.

From Jor Bagh metro it's an easy walk to Safdarjung's tomb and lodi garden. Humayun's tomb is about 4 km from there but you can easily catch a rickshaw at the station and he'll drive you there in 10 minutes or so.

Isn't a new Metro line from the Central Secreatariat to Badarpur opening shortly? It is supposed to have a station at Jangpura.

I'm not 100% sure but don't think it's open yet. On their website it's marked as 'future line' and a couple of weeks back I drove to Faridabad via Badarpur (Mathura road) and in the badarpur area workers were still busy on the line and it was an unholy traffic jam over a cratered road.
