How best to go from Delhi Sarai Rohilla train station to central Delhi?

Where exactly is DEE station located? How far from New Delhi/Pahargunj/Connaught Place?
Is there a Metro station close by?
How best to reach CP early in the morning from Sarai Rohilla?

Sarai Rohilla is almost Central Delhi. 15-20 minutes in peak traffic conditions and hardly 10 minutes otherwise.

No metro, take an Auto. Rs.25-40 for CP is my guess.

Nearst is karol bagh metro station from Sari rohila.

I read somewhere online that the nearest station is Shastri Park.

Correction: It is Shastri NAGAR Metro station, closest to DEE, the terminus for several trains to Rajasthan.

There is no point in going for the metro at that time. For that station you have to go in the opposite direction.

And My guess would be in the time you will reach the station from DEE, you very well might reach Central Delhi itself.

This was just for the record. Some of us here on Indiamike might want to go to DEE from some far off corner of Delhi; Shastri Park on the Rithala Red Line is the Metro station for DEE.

It is Shastri Nagar not Shastri Park. Shastri Park is also on the same metro line but for Sarai Rohilla you have to go Shastri Nagar. Please don't be confused.

Sarai rohilla is Just 1 km from SHASHTRI NAGAR metro station.Remember its SHASHTRI NAGAR NOT SHASHTRI PARK.

ON-FOOT TIME-14 MINUTES

AUTO - 5 MINUTES
RIKSHAW(HANDPULLER)-10 MINUTES

Other metro stations are as near as shashtri Nagar.

Please donot pay more than 25 Rs. to auto it just 1 KM from shashtri Nagar metro station.

In a month from now I am about to discover Sarai Rohilla Railway Station for the first time. Coming with plane early in the morning I have to catch the first available train to Ajmer. There is one that starts from this station at convenient time.
Is there a cloak room on the station and what is nearby to see/do/lose-some-time for about two-three hours that I will have free there?

I am not sure, but being a terminus there should be a cloak room at the train station. There are closed for 30 minutes duration 3-4 times a day. Check the closure timings.

Red Fort should be good enough for a couple of hours.

Yes ! Cloakroom is there... needless to say luggage should be locked.

If anybody can help with a piece of advise here, it would be really nice. In the last moment I decided to take a dslr camera with me, besides my point&shoot one. I just put it in my daily backpack as at the moment of packing I had only one too big bag available. Well, don't ask why, it's me
The question is: is there a possibility to find a smaller dslr bag in area near to Sarai Rohilla RS? I will wait couple of hours in the morning on Saturday.
