you light also want to check out likir house... there are ladakh connections in terms of management. i have not styaed there, but it sounded good from other posts... do a search for it here and you'll find more info.

a b and b also might be a good choice. there are quite a few of them out there now and many are in south delhi, which is more quiet and which would put you closer to the airport if you have an early flight to leh.

By the time you get through customs and everything it will be early morning. No point booking a hotel for that night.

Book a hotel for the next night, get a prepaid cab there and drop off your stuff (It will probably be around 5:30-6am) then go for breakfast in Delhi or a walk around Lodhi gardens.

I have had many experiences with bed bugs, etc. Luxury hotels seem to avoid this although I don't know if this is because of their clientele or something active they do. In general is there any advice about this in India?

NEAR ? the least distance that you have suggested is 16 KMs.......

Only Lohia is in Mahipalpur, all else are too distant....

I have an 8 hour transit at Delhi Airport and have my wife and infant accompanying me. Need a very clean and safe hotel next to the airport for less than$60 if possible. Can go higher if I have to. Any suggestions? Looked through the thread and did not come across any appealing suggestions.

Biplav, check Hotel Saptagiri. Travel agent whom we trust recommended it for this purpose, it is near airport, and gets good reviews on Tripadvisor. I'll be there overnight with daughter, so also wanted some place predictrably safe, clean, and comfortable after a long day of travel, and before another long day of travel.
If your 8 hours is during daytime hours, check withy Radisson. The Reservatins staff said they have half-day rates, b ut ONLY for daytime hours. (??--I dont know why the difference).
IF i had more time and wanted a place 15 minutes from IGIA, I'd probably stay at Chhoti Haveli, a lovely looking homestay with wonderful reviews and a host couple family that sound terrific! Alas, i'll have to wait for next time!

Can anyone tell me how to book Hotel Saptagiri? I have tried emailing them, but no response. Also, can they arrange airport pickup & dropoff? Thanks!

Contacting hotel

My communication with Hotel Saptagiri was by phone from California(using one of those cheap ophone cards from a large-chain pharmacy).
I'm not sure about airport pickup, but they should be able to give you instructions on using the prepaid taxi service from the airport, or get you a cab if you are going from the hotel to the airporte.I'll be there in June--if it werw soioner, i could give a review!

Any suggestions on budget hotels near Airport. I could not locate Saptagiri. We arrive (2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 5)) @8.30 Pm at the international terminal. Our flight out of domestic is at 6.35 Am next day. Would prefer Hotel that has restaurant. Suggestions Please!!

Also does anyone know if Kingfisher airlines has Luggage transfer desk at the international terminal?
