Hotel near DELHI AIRPORT

dear Mr.david

Just after 5 km from airport Mahipalpur is the Junction place (On National Highway 8) you can get numbers of three star-two star hotel with one five star hotel- Reddisson. THE name of some good average hotels are Star,Saptagiri,Shalimar etc. The price of room is approx : Rs. 1800 to Rs.3000 per 24 hours( In dollar-- 34 Dollar approx to 60 dollar) . Mahipalpur is the junction place of New Delhi and if you want to go anywhere to delhi from International airport you have to touch Mahipalpur must.

This is safe place for foreign tourist as you will see when you arrived.

thanks & Regards

ajay s pandey ( Resident of Mahipalpur)

Hotel Centaur

In 2003 I stayed one night at the Centaur, once owned by Air India, and very close to the airport. The place was shabby but very roomy.

Hotel Centaur has had poor reports because of poor management but the building and location were good.

Has anyone something up to date about the Centaur?

Stopped recently at the Centaur on the way to the airport. Don't know about the rooms, but the coffee shop was a ghost town with cockroaches for company.

Thanks for the update. The Centaur really needs a makeover then.

Hotel Ginger at New Delhi Railway Station is highly recommended.

For Delhi-Rishikesh, you can travel in Shatabdi Express Train upto Haridwar and then take a bus/auto to Rishikesh from there. iIt will be more comfortable and cost effective.

If you intend to travel by taxi only then you may check with www.namasteindiatours.com

Hi,

I'm a first timer in Delhi - travelling alone and a bit nervous!

I arrive at 11pm on 14th September and have two days until I fly out to Leh. I'm looking for a clean, comfy a/c hotel (with wifi if possible?!) and can spend about €30 a night, though I would pay more if I need to...

I'm looking for a relatively soft landing and I plan to come back to Delhi to explore it properly. I don't know about which area or anything... so can anyone recommend a hotel for me?

Thanks in advance!
