Thanks for this. I mean 10 hours after and therefore guess that it would be easier to stay near the airport than going in town?

Scroll down, under 'similar threads' some titles look promising.

hotel near delhi airport
I'm transiting a night in Delhi. Can anyone suggest a modest hotel near the airport in the 40/50 dollar range? How about in Gurgaon?

I arrived in Delhi (international) at 0130 with a flight from Delhi (domestic) to Bhubaneswar at 1100. I told a taxi driver to take me to the domestic terminal. He insisted that I get a room and took me to a hotel somewhere between the two airports. I refused and insisted he take me to the domestic airport. He did, finally. I spent most of the nine-plus hours sacked out on a bench in the terminal. (There were very few other people around, at least until about 0700.) It beat the hassle of checking in, checking out, getting another taxi -- and it was free.

I just booked Hotel Lohias through desiya.co.uk £26 a night with taxes etc. It's about 4km away from the airports. They are charging £11 for airport pickup
so turned that down. |

We just got back and stayed close by the Raddison,
this is one luxurious hotel to slum at, having a beer. We stayed on the same street less than a 1/2 km. up. hotel paradise paradise.a272@yahoo.co.in we chose a room at the back, away from the street noise, I believe it was 1,000 rupees. It has a great neighborhood to explore. On another note if you are transferring from domestic to international terminals be aware that there is a transfer bus at the domestic everything is clean and comfortable and the info bureau there will HELP you. The international has NO HELP and people will try and convince you that the bus doesn't exist. It comes through once an hour and picks up on the upper concourse. On catching planes at international be aware that you will not be allowed in the building until 3 hours before your flight - then head to the far left side which is like night and day compared to where you first enter! |

There are plenty of hotels on National Highway No-8 (Gurgaon Road ??), Mahipalpur Extension which is close enough to IGIA. There is R Blues, Star, Hotel Shalimar and a load of others on the same stretch of Road. This is just before the Radisson. As Paulie said it is a great place to explore and you dont get any hassle from touts.
My only concern would be that some of the prices have shot up over the last year or so. Last time I stayed at R Blues it cost about RS1400 for a AC Room. Now they want close to RS2000. |
