help!!! brand new camera. what a mistake!!!

this is a longshot but i don't know what else to do:
i just bought a dslr camera and instead of being happy about it i'm completely distressed!!! the minute i got back to my room with it the truth dawned on me that i really don't want it!!!! i feel so utterly stupid. if this was america i'd take it back to the shop immidiately but of course that doesn't work here. i called the canon shop in connaught place where i bought it and there's simply no returns once bought.
it's a canon 450d with the kit lens 18-55is. it's got great reviews but i haven't even tried it outside my room. i bought it on a whim after reading about it online!!! i'd much rather use one of those paper disposable cameras and take the ocassional snapshot, like i did before.
so in short does anyone want to buy it? or know a shop in delhi where i might try to sell it? it'd be a bargain. i paid 43,000rs but i'd sell for significantly less: maybe paying for my mistake will help me learn???
please please help.

My usual suggestion in times of purchase distress is to give it a few nights (although judging by the time of your original post, you've had it already).

If you're intimidated by all the functions, figure out the basic settings and don't worry about adjusting for every lighting condition.

Once I went digital, I never went back! It's so nice to be able to preview the pictures you take. I never end up not getting the shot I want, because I know instantly. I don't have to spend money on printing shots I may not need and I never have to buy film!

Hope you've made some peace with your purchase.

Where are you staying? How long are you in Delhi? You can try and sell it in Pahar Ganj. I know of some guys(shopkeepers)who are always interested to buy cameras. No warranty that they buy it though... It depends on the price of course... You can PM me if you want their names and address.

That price is ridiculously expensive for that kind of entry level DSLR camera. Here in rip-off Britain you can buy the exact same camera for £434.00 (33,215ruppes) and definitely much cheaper in the States.

well just to regroup: i ended up selling it in chandni chowk for 32,000!!! ie a 11,000rs loss, but once my mind was set there was no going back.
jjmoreta thanx, but it's not that i was intimidated by the functions: i normally love that stage when you come home with a new gadget and read the manual from cover to cover just for fun!!! but the camera was too big, and too bulky and it was clear to me that it would enslave me completely and at the same time attract too much of the wrong kind of attention here in india.
i then went to the grey market of palika bazaar and bought a g10 which is what i wanted all along but is unavailable in the canon shops. it never even occured to me that they might sell it there!!! it's handling is so much better than the 450d. it's a superior machine. i love it...
i now think of the whole episode as a lesson in de-institutionalisation. i knew about palika bazar but i was afraid to buy there so didn't even go to check. i prefered to buy from an "authorized canon dealer" for the safety net i thought would come with it... ha!!
de-institutionalisation for 11,000rs? not a bad price i think... people have paid more to learn less...
grey is my new favorite color...
