Help Arranging my own Tour

A group go Six to eight Seniors wish to Start Tour of India at the Wagah Border, Do Amritsar for a day,fly to Delhi, Fly to Srinagar and do 3-4 days in Kashmir,flyback to Delhi,then Fly to Jaipur,spend a day then on to Rathambore for 2 days then Fathehpur Sikhri,Agra for day then Train to Delhi where we will spend 2-3 days.
Since we are Expats,we can book,Air,Hotels and Rail on Line ,But have difficulty finding reliable Van drivers and also accessing reasonable Hotel rates for 4 -5 star accommodations.
Suggestions without Travel Agents Involvement with their Big cuts would be a great help

From Amritsar to Delhi it will be better to take the Shatabdi express train. It will save you the hassle of commuting from downtown to the airports in both cities.

Colonel's Retreat At The Airport is a very nice hotel near the airport in a quiet residential area. It is easily accessible via the Metro.

We need a Hiace Toyota Van ,driver and guide to see Golden Temple etc culminating with a Flight at 6pm or so to Delhi.The Shatabi is fast but its still 6 hours to move 8 seniors.I think Air is Faster..unless I am misinformed.

Have you done a group tour on your own before ? If not, I suggest you should let a TA handle it. They will deal with the logistics. The era of inflated % for TAs is long gone.

4-5 star hotels will give group rates, or will allow TAs to access unpublished rack rates. The structure of rack rates goes as follows: For Example:

An International chain in Mumbai has published rack rate of 8,500/NT, A Elite member will get about 20-30% discount with vouchers for off season; a TA might get about 5-8% discount. An Enterprise/Large Corporation would negotiate anywhere between 30-45% discount.

A group rate, one shot deal at a 4-5 Star hotel could get you'll about 10% and up if you call on the phone and ask for Manager on Duty.

Is there any reason why you'll want to start at Amritsar ??

This is our Families One and only ,possibly Last trip down Nostalgia lane!!
We want start in Lahore,Pakistan for 3 days cross over to India do 14 days.
We know exactly what we require but wish to connect with options of Local Guides and Drivers with Vans.
Hotels are no Problem arranging on web,what we needed was Indian based webpage to negotiate.
So Far Indian and Pakistani TA's work separately. We wold prefer one source of TA.
So far their quotes vary from the ridiculous to sublime!!
So trying it piece meal.

We are advised that whilst Delhi ti Srinagar by air is The Option.
Amritsar to Delhi can be air or Shatabhi Fast train.Would it be faster move 8 seniors by train or air.Question being checking in at The airport.
Similarly whilst travelling from Delhi to Jaipur,would it be easy to connect at the airport on return from Srinagar by Air?
Alternat advise is rent a Van and driver in Delhi who can drive us to Jaipur,Rathmbore ,Agra and return us to Delhi where for 2 more days he could take us to Places of Interest and drop us off at the airport.
Our concern is the Long drives,we are told that the conundrum at the Airports is a longer Ordeal,and despite the drive the Convenience outweigh the time factor including taking a Train Back from Agra to Delhi.
Furthermore negotiating directly with a Hotel in Delhi for both rooms and Van is a possibility and a convenience.
