Haunted houses in Delhi?

Hey
I have many times wondered about the abandoned high-rise building and an other old, British-style house, both at Barakhamba Road near Connaught Place. The high-rise has been there for years, in the middle of high-commercial New Delhi. They have abandoned it as a skeleton concrete structure. It seems to me so very strange... Someone told me, it was haunted and nobody wants to touch it anymore. Somebody knows more about it? I am really curious.

Are you talking about the one at Barakhamba Road, just opposite the branch of ABN Amro Bank ?

As far as I know, It's a disputed building and not a haunted one....

Its not a house but a deserted khandar if you may. Its on Hailey road which is right opposite the main gate of modern school.

I have tried going down the stairs there at night... very spooky indeed

Yes, I think so. The high rise one is, when you drive towards CP on Barakhamba Road on your right side od the streat, before Barakhamba Metro Station.
So, you think they can not come to any conclusion in terms of how to proceed?

Thewre is another abandoned house which looks like one from the british time. It is also on the right side of the road (If you drive towards CP)and is just beside the bus stand.

Many such old buildings are decaying because of reasons like, there are many claimants of ancestral property who are caught in litigations and court cases dragging on for ever, promoters wanting to buy the land some share holders agreeing and some not etc. etc.

Not necessarily !

Do you have some special interest in haunted places ?

Actually it's difficult to find any at Delhi. Real Estate problem is so acute and Delhi populace is so spirited that they are ready to share there space with a spirit also.....

Intresting topic!

I know many stories too.

For example in W block of GK, Delhi there is a haunted house.Decomposed bodies of the old couple were found in the underground water tank. There are activities in night which neighbour says are ghostly. The news came in a leading english news paper. Also C Block in Defence Colony also known for some haunted houses.

In old delhi area(can't remember the place) there is a story of a headless man riding on horse. It's believed that he was a British officer in British Raj in India long way back.

Also Dwarka too has haunted places.A friend's wife told how she saw a ghost of a woman walking up the roof inside her own room when she was alone at night.
Another famous one is in which(many drivers told) at a lonely stretch with a Peepal tree in Dwarka there is a woman who asks for lift, if lift is not given she runs along with the vehicle with the same speed!

And what more one MNC in Gurgaon near a Cremation Ground is said to be haunted one and activities like doors shutting, things getting down on the floor happens, my friend joined there and left within a week.

And the list goes on...
