Gurgaon
Anybody have advice on the following.
1 - A driver company, to hire a car/driver for a month? I know strange, but getting taxis every day from the same place can be irritating. 2 - Nicest way to get to Jaipur for a long weekend? 3 - What to do in Delhi after you have done all the tourist bits and bobs? 4 - Best restaurants in the area of Gurgaon and Delhi? I tried punjabi by nature, its a fantastic culinary feast of oozing perfect food. So if anyone has not tried it, do. Gurgaon version is at the infinity towers, beside the Ericsson building, Phaze Number 5. 5 - Cinema listings for Gurgaon (websites don't seem to list films?) 6 - Anybody been to the nightclub at the Sahara Mall? It looks okay. Is it safe from the pinchers and groapers for my lady? I heard about a molestation (Rape?) in Gurgaon lately so Im not so sure about late night clubbing... Any advice, as always, appreciated. R |

Two quick ones in Gurgaon: Filmi Masala in Metropolitan, Chor Bizarre in ditto (the original version at ITO is far better, though). Delhi's list is too long. Here are some names: Maurya Sheraton's Bukhara, Claridges' Dhaba, Chopsticks in Asiad Village (albeit in decline), and Moets in Defence Colony. Quote:
There are two cinema chains in Gurgaon: PVR and DT. you can google their websites and check out the listings as well. Quote:
Haven't been to the nightclub at Sahara mall, but the latter happens to be one of the shadier malls in Gurgaon. On the whole, women accompanied by a male escort should not be overtly alarmed. Single women should consider moving to another city. |

Thanks for all the advice. I when I have done it all I will write reports for all those with similar requests.
Regarding driver and a car I have heard of a company called Green's but no amount of google'ing is leading me to a website. "Head OUT of Delhi and see the mountains and forests of north india before they run out of snow and trees respectively." I will do, off to Dharamshala and maybe shimla this weekend. Thanks again all R |
