General Shopping in New Delhi

We have to equip our son for boarding school in India. This means buying everything from a couple of tin trunks to bedding to all sorts of casual/sports clothing to name tags (and having them sewn/glued on). There is no school uniform as such. We think that Delhi will be a better place to do this shopping rather than Dehradun.
Can anyone tell us where are the best places in Delhi to do this type of shopping?

For branded clothes and sports gear, the shopping malls outside Rajouri Garden Metro station are worth a visit.
Ajmal Khan Road outside Karol Bagh Metro station is a shopper's paradise.
