Four day weekend.. you suggestions please
Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. I have a four day weekend coming up this week, I need some suggestions for nice trip with 2 of my friends. It would be great if you could suggest some place within 300-350 KM from Delhi. Hill Stations and Offbeat locations are greatly preferred. Thanks a lot. P.S: Places that are already out of list includes Dharamshala, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Nainital. |

Same situation here as well !!
Try Solang (12 KM north to Manali and enjoy snow (and possibly snowfall). Also have a hot bath at Manikaran in boiling waters in between snowfilled/chilled waters. (East from Bhuntar (kullu)).

Great.. Can't believe I'm getting replies so soon..
I'm checking out Solang valley at the moment. Lansdowne is a good suggestion I'm adding that to the list... One of my office colleagues has been there so will get some info from him and post it here. But how about Kausani and Kanatal? http://www.mussoorie-hotels.com/kanatal.htm http://wikitravel.org/en/Kausani Thanks |

Solang is far off, Apparently about 600 kms.
Try these places: 1. Kasauli 2. Lansdowne 3. Chail 4. Jilling Estate - http://www.jilling.net/ 5. Jim Corbett 6. Shoghi 7. Shimla/Nainital/Mussoorie are other most popular options. Google for these placs and you'll find a lot of informaion. Jilling Estate is my personal favourite. I find this website useful. It gives a list of places around delhi - http://www.arounddelhi.com/ |

Thanks for the input guys.. I'm not a big fan of forts or palaces.. I'm looking for a chilled out place.. like a hill station.. to trek.. may be some adventure sports.. and smoke. How scenic is Landsdowne, Kausani and Kanatal? If you think there are other places which match my criteria please post them.

Dear Swami,
if interested in short trek, may try Dalhousie - kalatop - khajjiar - chamba (3 day' trek). A small and scenic trek. You will need basic gear (sleeping bag, rucksack, tent). Food available at Kalatop, Khajjiar and Chamba.![]() |

i personally loved Lansdowne , nothing to do except walks and just chill. I must have gone through close to 4 books and 100 kg's of Pakoras while i was there...sure its even more pretty in the winter , i went in April.
