Have great evening guys. Can I just check you are following the right team?

If you miss the first game it won't really matter just make sure you see the Toon Army (Newcastle) beat Chelsea at St James' Park Newcastle, the best stadium in Britain.

Make sure you shout "Away the lads!", the battle cry of the Magpies (Newcastle).

Too right Cyber. I originally wrote a slighter longer post slagging off ManU and saying how uncool it is in England to support them; then I changed it 'cos it was a bit negative.

Anyway, what the hell, "Come on Liverpool too and beat the Mancs!"

Hi pooch well we have the chance to see if Scottish football has made any inroads on the world football stage this cominig Saturday, when we see them play the Dutchies, I admit to being a bit pessimistic but perhaps following the Roy keane of thought with some crunching tackles, we may get a point or two!!
Speaking of which I wonder if the game highlights are being shown on StarESPN in India!!!
Good luck today against Killie (we're all right having put 5 past my dads club Dunfermline, mind you I seem to remember being 8 points up at some point last season and still you you took the flag, well done!!!)
I'm still rooting for you in Europe (you won't hear many celts saying that but it's the truth, I was roaring for you 3 seasons ago when Michael Mols was doing his Bergkamp thing for you glad to see he is finding a bit of form again!!)
Anyway I suppose I better not go too far with the football thing, although it's Sunday and the forum is pretty slow at weekends!!

C'mon the reds!!

Dunfermline, I kinda support them just cos my fave band's frontman supported them.
Likewise when Celtic are in Europe mind you.
StarESPN over all the games (highlights at least) but we don't get any of that here in Chennai since this city is first in line with the government's experiment of a "set top box". Till that is sorted out I will be heading to Pondi every weekend.

Even tho i am saving for my trip to India i couldnt miss the chance of, hopefully, seeing some Scottish footballing glory at last and have got tickets for both the games! If McBerti gets his tactics right and the players showed the fight they did against the Germans (both games) i reckon we are well in with a shout. With McFadden showing real skill and the emergence of Fletcher at the Lith game we finally seem to have one or two stars of the future emerging. Good performances from Douglas, Naysmith, Pressley, Dailly and B Ferguson and i reckon we can do it!!

C'mon Scotland!

ps i know there are 5 days to go, but i am currently working my notice out in London and am starting to get very excited/nervous about heading up the road again!

Hey Pooch who's the fave band front man?? Is it Stuart Adamson from big country?? Tell me I'm intrigued!!
And Stoi c'mon the Scots, it may interest you to know there is very little grassroots support for The Netherlands, most Dutch guys I talk to say "Schotland mag rustig winnen" or Scotland can win for all I care"
The general perception of the dutch side here in The Netherlands, is that they are a bunch of overpaid prima donna's who feel no honour in playing for their country!!
Sound familiar? anyway I don't suscribe to the same feeling it's only been a few years since they were robbed of at least a final place against Italy!!
Still this may work in Scotlands favour!!
Enjoy both the matches (the Arena is something special bye the way!)
I'll be cheering them on from afar!! Oh flower of Scotland............

Also hopeful about Scotland beating Holland this weekend - but I alway was an optimist.

Planning first trip to India and did not even consider following football out there - apart from looking up results on the web - but being an Aberdeen fan this is not an enjoyable experience.

It is also a revelation to me as I am working down in London at present to watch Londoners supporting the gers against the hated man u.

India for the TV football fan!!

Planning your first trip pids you've come to the right place as well as being a font for international football comments we also provide a pretty in depth coverage of life for the traveller on the Sub-Continent
Hows the itinery coming along??
Since we and others before us brought up the subject of football on the TV, I thought maybe I'd do a guide to what you can expect in India as far as coverage goes!!
India has suprisingly good coverage of european football, with preference to English league foorball (the Sky, ESPN, Star, tie up)
So for English folks you can expect 3 to 4 live matches between Saturday and Monday as well as 3 to 4 delayed "live" matches!!
Further for fans from elsewhere in Europe you can catch a lot of matches from both the Italian and Spanish leagues, added to that there are several World and European football round ups!!
Getting back to the European game, the same Star/ESPN network also covers the European Champions League games, usually 2 live matches and 2 delayed "live" matches (You have to be a die hard for this! The first match starts at 1.30 am). As well as a breakfast time round up of the goals scored !!
Ok I can hear wives dropping off to sleep so I'll end with a link where you can find all the info you might need to follow your team on TV, whilst away!!
Star ESPN world football!!!!!

Another facet of life on the Sub-continent!!!!

Yeah cyberhippie, t'was Stuart Adamson. Richard Jobson is from Dunfermline but no clue if he supported the team. (Adamson was in the Skids as well before BC)

I seen him once or twice you know (would never introduce myself, too shy)
He used to drink in the same bar where my father drank. a old Rosyth apprentice haunt it seems, so my dad likes to drink there being one himself!!
I've never asked but I reckon the guys out of Nazareth and the Average White Band must have drunk there as well, same thing, they were all on the local pay roll.
Anyhows he was always in there cursing and drinking with the best of them. A guy we met in Holland from another Scottish band got a bit of help from Stuart, and he thought Stuart was just a great guy, a musician through and through!!

I just wish I could remember the name of the bar now, (you seem like a real fan so.........)
