flying to delhi today!

hey, i'm flying to delhi today. suh-weet! i was wondering if someone could help me out with a few questions:

1) can i leave a bag at the airport in delhi for a week or so?
2) is it okay to bring in a few pirated cd's/dvd's to india that i've bought in thailand?
3) it says in the lonely planet that if you buy a ticket at the new delhi train station with rupees, it needs to be backed up by money-exchange certificates. huh? what's a money exchange certificate?

looking forward to it. and if anyone wants to swing down to the taj and varansi this week, give me a holler.

Don't know about 1st question. I doubt if they'll care what cds you have with you. The money exchange certificate I would guess is the encashment paper you'll get when you exchange dollars for rupies at a bank or hotel. It just shows you obtained rupees legally.

The CDs DVDs should be no problem the chances of getting searched are slim the chances that anyone will spot a few pirate CDs even slimmer.
I don't know about leaving a bag at the airport I've never seen a left luggage place at the airport but that\s not to say ther isn't one as I never really had occasion to look for it!
Many budget hotels offer this service for a small fee, the Star Paradise/Palace are two which spring to mind take a look at the hotel listings section on this site!!
An encashment certificate is indeed the receipt you get when you change your money from say Dollars to Rupees, this prooves you have changed your money legally!!.
If you use the ATM to withdraw funds then keep the little print out reciept as this is also accepted as proof of encashmnet!!

Happy Traveling
