Florence Inn or Hotel Broadway in Delhi?
G'day all,
I was wondering if there's anyone who can tell me about their experience staying in Delhi in either the Florence Inn or Hotel Broadway or somewhere similar (mid range). My parther an I (early 30s) are travelling to India for the first time in December and we want somewhere nice for the first couple of nights. Both the Florence Inn in Karol Barg and Hotel Broadway in Old Delhi seem to have good reviews on this and other sites so I was hoping you could share some first hand experience to help me make up my mind about where to stay. Thanks in advance, Ang |

You may have already read this in the hotel listings section but just in case you didn't find it I'm providing the link. [To answer you question I found myself repeating what we wrote there at length on the Florence Inn.]
Let me know if you have any other questions about FI and I'll try to answer them. We have stayed there 3 times as we were in and out of Delhi on our last trip. distaff half of hfot2 http://www.indiamike.com/reviews/sho...%20Inn%20Delhi |

Thanks for the message--I had read your thread in the hotel review (such great info). It sounds to me like staying at the Florence Inn could wind up being a great experience, or a really bad one.
Can anyone recommend other mid-range hotels in Delhi? |

Look at Hans Plaza, but it may be out of your price range. We stayed there twice in executive rooms and liked it. Great views over the city, walking distance to Connaught Place and good breakfast.

Sorry to have led you to think that it could be "really bad" at Florence Inn. Yes, the manager was a bit troublesome - but that can and does happen anywhere. Mind you, we were in the second smallest room in the hotel and had a fine time. When we return to Delhi we'll go back to FI. distaff half of hfot2 |

Hi Ang,
We have been trying to do the same. I was going to book Florence but a friend recommended Delhi B&B which is a homestay. They sound terrific. It is slightly more than Florence but once I booked I felt so relieved that I had done the right thing .Hopes this helps as I'm very new at this. best, Lesley |

Thanks for all your thoughts. Someone on LP's Thorntree said I might have to change my user name to 'anguish' if I stay at the Florence Inn, hence my second thoughts. Neither Hans Plaza nor the Delhi B&B look quite like our thing so Hotel Broadway's at the top of our list at the moment.
I have vowed to review whatever hotels we stay in on IM after I return to help first timers like us Lesley! |

I must say it didn't look like our thing either as we are opting for havelis for the rest. It sounds like a nice soft landing into Delhi for me. good luck, I will look at your other choice too for future reference. Lesley
