Question Fabric stores in Delhi

Ok, it might seem weird, but i want to buy fabrics for my wedding dress in India.

On our first trip, last year, i saw some nice fabric stores in Carol Bagh, but i don't know if that's the right place to look for the kind of fabrics i need (lace, embroidery) and if so - which store is the best (variety, quality and prices wise)

Also, how can i know (if that's even possible) that the prices I'm being given as a tourist are the same prices for locals (or at least fair and not a rip off).

Thanks in advance to all of you that can give me tips, and make my dream of a perfect wedding dress with Indian fabrics come true.

Your Budget Idea would certainly be a good start for us to suggest.

Try Chadni Chowk for Material ( Cheapest and a very wide variety )

Take the Metro from CP and head to the market.

KArol Bagh & Chandni Chowk both are good places for shopping.

If you go with some Indian person then it will easy for you. Otherwise price will little higher. You can take help of any IM member for this.

Thanks vkochar and Pathankot

I don't really know any Indian people who can help me go shopping, and i have no real budget yet, as i don't know what are the prices of the various fabrics.

Any recommendation on specific stores that holds lace and embroidery? (i only need white material) any recommended web sites so i can get a price estimate?

My suggestion would be to visit Kinari Bazar in Chandni Chowk.

It's a big market for laces and other wedding dresses materials. Om Lace house is a famous and old shop there.... there are many more....

Since they are not a typical tourist market, I don't think they'll overcharge you.

Lajpat Nagar too has a shop, Chopra Laces... they also have a huge variety of laces......
