Me and my husband will be visiting Ludhiana next week. This is the first time we are travelling via Chennai and we understand our flight will land at terminal 1 which is domestic air port. Could someone advise us as to how do we get a coach, a comfortable bus to Ludhiana. We may arrive at terminal 1 by say 4.30pm if there is no delay in the flight from Chennai to Delhi. We are coming for a holiday visiting Amristar.

What is the distance from airport to bus terminal
Which is the good reliable coach
What is the fare (so that we can get the money in RS with us)

The buses for Ludhiana would depart from Kashmere Gate ISBT which is roughly 20-25 Kms from the airport. You can prebook a radio taxi to take you there @ Rs/ 15/Km (easycabs 01143434343)
From Kashmere Gate ISBT you have to take any Amritsar bound volvo bus which will drop you to Ludhiana. Fare should not be more than Rs. 800
Alternately you can also prebook a volvo bus on redbus.com However check thier departure point (those buses may not depart from Kashmere Gate)

You maybe confused but might also confuse others with that question. Let me just check that you are asking about getting a bus from Delhi to Ludhiana (as I suspect) and not Chennai to Ludhiana. Just reading the question it is not clear you are landing at Terminal 1, but not 100% clear which city!

I got confused too, but I think the OP is talking about Delhi/Ludhiana buses.

At least I hope so. Chennai/Ludhiana by bus will be a killer.

Thank you for your quick reply, Sorry if I have confused you ppl. Kashimeri gate is about 25-30km as you said, what about going to terminal 2 from terminal 1 (Delhi airport) and then get a bus from there be nearer than going to kashimir gate?

I understand that there are buses from the International airport going North meaning going to Punjab. Please brief me which is a better way to get a bus to ludhiana.Kashmiri gate to going to International airport from domestic airport.

Looking forward for some advise.

Come on nick, There are no buses from Meenambakkam to Ludhiana...

Best way to go to Ludhiana is the Shatabadi Express train,
two of these train run per day, at 7:20 in the morning and at 16:30 in the evening. You can book a ticket in Tatkal (opens two days before travel date) if the tickets are not available in General quota are already booked.Check at www.irctc.co.in.

thank you, I wish I can take the shatabhi but the time does not match, we will arrive from chennai at 15.30hrs if no delay in flight.

We will try the bus from kashmere gate or stay a night in the hotel and then take the shatabi to Lud.
