Try Karim's in Old Delhi, near Jama Masjid. It's a Delhi institution.

There are so many posts on eating options in Delhi.
hal2004 is right in describing Karim as an institution.
Kamla Nagar near the uni has quite a few good eating joints.

North Delhi has tonnes of good places. No need to go all the way to South Delhi for the same. Kamla Nagar, Pitam Pura, Model Town all would have good places.
