domestic or international terminal

If you couldn't tell by the thread title,

this is a stupid question.




So I have a flight from delhi to kathmandu. It's on nacil IC (the post-merge domestic part of air india). A domestic airline leaving to an international destination... International terminal, right?

I know it's silly, but I just want to make sure the system is what you'd expect and not based on carrier. I'd rather make a fool of myself here instead of having to make a last minute dash between airports...

Yup, Delhi to Kathmandu is from the international airport. Irrespective of airline ...

There are some domestic flights which leave from International airport though. Funny as it may sound. But well as they say, It happens only in India.

As far as your flight is concerned though, It would definitely leave from International Airport.

I am yet to come across one.

Your message seemed condescending. Let me tell you the domestic flights that operate from international terminal are those that are bound for international destimations... for Mumbai - Delhi - Tokyo will depart from the international terminal in Mumbai and from Delhi.

I took a flight to Kullu that was supposed to be from domestic (So i would think) but left from International airport. And no, it wasnt going anywhere International from Kullu.

o, in that case, i am surprised. i frankly, havent heard that before.

is that normally the case for kullu flights or was it a one-off case.

I have been to kullu more than once. That was the only instance. It did give me a lot of trouble and hassle early in the morning though.

Anyhow, All is well that ends well

I flew from the international terminal in Delhi yesterday. There were a few domestic flights indicated - I think Amritsar was one. Maybe it's done during the day (my flight left at 13:15) when the international terminal is quieter.
