dilly dally in Dehli

i arrive in Delhi dec. 2. i need to find a place to store cold weather things and get to south india as soon as possible.

will i be able to
-find a secure hotel to store things,
-buy a train ticket for same or next day travel to Cochin, and leave Dehli the following day or sooner?

the train threads indicate i should reserve from here it sounds. but without knowing how long i'll be in Delhi that's difficult unless i make several reservations and cancel the later ones. i imagine they allow only one reservation per name. then there was the Tatkal Scheme, but who knows which train has that?..

i've posted asking where to store things. people have said it is very possible, but no specifics on where.

also, can one fly into bangkok and get next day or same day flights to india in peak season (dec.)? i'm seeing $760 ow right now San Fran to Delhi and considering other options.

To store things i think few hotels will do,plz search IM old threads.
Train travel please book your ticket before you leave.
Btw ,If you want to travel down south from Delhi ,why dont you land Chennai or any city where you planning?!!.
From Delhi if you want to travel south ,you have to book the tickets.
