I am going to travel between Delhi and Haridwar (and onwards) in couple of weeks. Jan Shatabdi is going to work better since the departure is later in the day. I would hate to waste a day and wake up at 4:00 in the morning to catch Shatabdi next day. But based on some of the reviews it seem the coach configuration is little different and Jan Shatabdi compartments are more crowded, is that correct? Also is there any food provided on Jan Shatabdi?

Thanks!

Seating configuration

The main question I have, is there any difference in seating configuration between Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi chair cars?

Thanks for forwarding me that thread, but I don't think anyone answered my question there. I will appreciate if someone can answer about what is the diff. between Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi chair cars?

Thanks again!

Shatabdi Trains are AC and hence expensive. Food cost is included in ticket.

Jan Shatabdi Trains are non-AC generally and hence cheaper. The main reason for Jan Shatabdi trains is to reduce the cost with same travel time. Not sure whether food cost is included in ticket cost or not.
