I'm going to India for my first time and i'm searching for a nice hotel in Dheli!
I'm traveling alone so i whould prefer to stay in a mid range hotel, 800 Rs/ day, maximum!
I don't know whish area is the best to stay, i'm a little confused...
Please if anyone has nice references please say something!

Hello
When I go in October I am staying at the Master Gues House. Its a little over your budget but I have heard good reviews and the website/rooms look great. Rooms are about 1100 Rs per night. Have a look at www.master-guesthouse.com

loads of options
While the budget mentioned seems a lil low but if you stretch by an additional 3/4 Euros..you will find decent stays.
The choice of location is entirely dependent on whether the stay is long term or short - term
There are guest houses in gurgaon, vasant kunj & delhi which offer homely comfort for a decent price ...
One can even get a great rate with breakfast thrown in.

Hi Susana,
Have booked for next August on Metroplis Tourist Home AC Room with bath, tv, fridge, etc, at 880 Rs. Is probably the best budget option in Paharganj. Have also arranged with them the airport transfer for 15 euro, a little expensive but not that bad. They also have a nice restaurant, and if it is your first visit to India I'm sure you will enjoy the area (is only a opinion). The address is in the hotel section in India Mike. Their new email is: metravel@vsnl.com
Good luck

In delhi, there are many many many hotels. Try staying at a place where other toursists are. I wouldnt suggest staying in Daryaganj or Pahar Ganj because these places are not so good. Try staying in CP somewhere. You can definitely get a room under Rs. 800 /- I guess you can also stay at YMCA tourist hotel. Thats in CP too.
Hi,
Thanks for your information!
I was now looking in the internet and I found a Guest house in Dheli that seemed verry nice... Situated in the vicinity of Mughal Emperor Humayun’s
Tomb, it's called "Carrowen"
Direction:
Carrowen is located on the main Nizamuddin East Road heading towards the Nizamuddin Railway Station - past the Post Office and YMCA Cultural Centre- the last house on the left before the junction for the station.
200m from Nizamuddin Railway Station
Do you think this is a nice location in Dheli?

Humayun's Tomb & Nizamuddin Station are not exactly within walking distance of the center. If that's what you want, look for something in the Connaught Place/Paharganj area. The latter is the more budget area so if you're looking for something a little more upmarket hunt down something around CP. There are dozens of places in both areas so don't worry about getting stuck.
Weather in Dheli and north!
I'm a little worried about the weather!
I'm arriving to Deheli on 14th of August and after all these weather disasters in Mombay i am wondering if in Dheli and North there is a good weather for travel!
If anyone is traveling over, please say something!

the weather is fine though pretty humid in delhi. I started driving from delhi this morning and reached udaipur around 4.00 pm. Its poured more or less all the way from jaipur onwards. But its not the mumbai kind of rain so don't worry. And rain in udaipur and rajasthan means its going to be beautiful countryside and good weather. Mumbai is still reeling under bad weather and cancelled flights etc.
Off course if you head to the hills or Goa now, then its bad plan/idea totally!

Hi Susana,On our trip to Delhi, we had planned to spend some time at the Carrowen because it looked like such a nice place to relax away from the hustle of Delhi. We figured it would be an easy commute to make to the city center.
Coming into Delhi by train, we went past the Nizamuddin Railway Station and the area looked quite nice (as far as you can tell whizzing by it at 30mph). However, we soon realized that Nizamuddin is a long way from the city center and we didn't want to spend the time commuting back and forth.
Again, I'm have no opinion of the Carrowen because we didn't stay there. I can say, however, that the staff were very professional and accepted our cancellation without penalty.
