Delhi to Neemrana and back
Hi,
I had planned a one night stay in Neemrana Fort Palace in the Neemrana village near the Delhi-Jaipur highway. However, I'm still looking for a cost effective way of getting there The reservation agent just knew of the taxi service, which at Rs 3600 each way, costs more than twice as much as the room for a night.Does anyone know of a bus/taxi/train service (or a combination of these) that will allow us to get to Neemrana without blowing our budget to kingdom come? If it matters, we'll be travelling with two medium-sized pieces of luggage. Thanks! |

neemrana location is a little off the highway - just a little bit inside.
u need ur own transportation for sure & taxi is expensive for sure. neemrana is a min 5000 per day & taxi guy will charge u a min for 200 or 250 km per day - total should not be more than Rs. 4000 + driver night charge around 100. check with any local taxi/dly stand. amit |

Neemrana is just off the busy Delhi-Jaipur highway. You should be able to take pretty much any Delhi-Jaipur bus and get off at Neemrana. I am not sure where one boards Delhi-Jaipur buses though my guess is that it should be possible to catch them at Dhaula Kuan. My (another) guess is that buses run pretty much every few minutes on that route. You will have to find some way of getting from Neemrana bus stop to the fort. The distance is around a mile. You could perhaps ask the fort people to pick you up from the local bus stop.

Yes, you do have to get from the highway to the hotel. Another way if you don't fancy the bus might be to get the train to Jaipur and get the hotel to send a car to pick you up at the station, or take a taxi.

An Indica would be good for you, and it should not cost you more than Rs.2000 for both ways. (And 2000 is toooo much as well)

Bus/taxi it is then bloreGhooma! Thanks Shashank. Funny, it doesn't feel closer to Delhi at all.
Got it- Rewari seems to be the closest station at 65kms. |

Neemrana is pretty near to "Midway behror" where all the delhi-jaipur tourist buses stop.
my guess would be maximum 10kms. take a Volvo(you may have to purchase a full delhi-jaipur ticket) to midway behror and ask the hotel to pick you up from there. the return journey may be trickier. I donot know if they will allow you to board the Volvo from midway. You may have to take an ordinary bus. |

Midway is exactly 135 km from Delhi and the same distance from Jaipur, and Neemrana is before the Midway itself.
If you are two people, you will end up paying Rs.2000 for Volvo (full fare for Delhi-Jaipur-Delhi, 2 Adults)..its better to look for a travel agency and book an Indica. |

Take the Jaipur Volvo, get off at Dharu Hera, and hire a cab to Neemrana. Should be easy.
Oh crap. no. that's not right. See? you should hit the sack after bridge and whiskey. Get off at Behror and hire a camel. |

@ Shashank above....I stand corrected. Though you WOULD need to hop on to a volvo for Dharu Hera ... it's 65 km from the Del-Gurgaon border...how does one traverse that? Hire a cab from Gurgaon - shell out a thouand bucks. Hire a volvo, pay 300-odd.
But it's Behror, not Dharu Hera, where one should get off you've made that point already. Hic. |

Generally best to keep straws behind camel, like this:
http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/med...iage-dakor.jpg Note that this one has a sign growing out of its back instead, which doesn't appear to affect its performance at all. Perhaps it's a "no straws here" sign. ![]() |
