Delhi to Agra by train

I'm going to Delhi for the 1st time, arriving to Delhi airport at 2AM on 9/4/05. I need to catch a train to Agra to visit the Taj Mahaj. I do have the room at Taj View hotel for the night of the 4th and plan to get back to Delhi on the 5th to meet up with my tour group. Please help me with info on how to go from delhi to Agra. Thanks.

I'm sure there are a few posts around that cover this but if you go to http://www.indianrail.gov.in/inet_metro_trns.html and look up trains between agra and delhi you'll get a list and can pick which times suit your needs.

If you're really keen you could get on the Shatabdi at 6am, which arrives at Agra at 8.10am. On the way back it leaves at night so unless you're meeting your tour group at midnight it probably wouldn't work for you

There are a lot of other "express" trains on the same route though.
The Shatabdis are the fastest trains and you'd probably be able to sleep on them if you're not too light a sleeper (plus free meals, water and newspapers)
