Delhi: Tabla or cooking lessons?

Hello!

My husband and I are planning a trip to Delhi. We'll be staying with friends, and are very much looking forward to the trip.

My husband is very interesting in cooking, and I'd like to surprise him by arranging a lesson while we're in India. The lesson would need to be offered in English, but I'd like to learn (and I know he'd like to learn) about authentic Indian cuisine.

We'll only be there for a week or so, so we're not really looking for a series--just a one-time class.

Anyone aware of resources for English-language cooking classes in Delhi?

My husband is also interested in the tabla drum, so if you're aware of a resource for tabla drumming lessons, please let me know that as well.

(Long story short, I'm organizing Christmas gifts!)

Stick with the cooking: you could learn several good dishes/techniques in the time it would take just to learn how to position the fingers over the drum, let alone get the right sound out of it.

Of course, if you could find a friendly tabla player willing to give a personal lecture demonstration, that would be wonderful! And if he learnt a stroke or two, that would be bonus.

But, believe me, it is not at all like many of the world's drums where you just begin by hitting it, and then complexity comes as you learn harder and harder compositions; it is not at all easy to even master the basic strokes!
