HI

I've now spent a full year in Delhi and come Saturday l'm back off to England and l'm really going to miss to Delhi! Spent 11 months living in GK2, which by the way is a great area to live in, if a little expensive. Smoke house Grill in Gk2, Masjid moth complex, has to be one of the best continental restaurants l've tried anywhere. And just next door is Mainland China, which is very reasonably priced and again along with 'the chinese' in CP the best two Chinese (and authentic) restaurants l've tried in India. Also in GK2 M block you've got Nu Deli, which again is abit pricey, supposedly French but l'd say continental and also DIVAS for authentic Italian just across the square. I would avoid China Garden & Chungwa in GK2 unless your after INdo-Chinese! PVR Saket, Priya & GK1 m & N block turned out to be weekly hangouts! Anyway, after my 11 month stint in GK2 l then went off travelling for 12 weeks around India and now l'm back in DElhi. But before heading here found it a nightmare to find half decent mid range accommodation. So just wanted to inform you guys about this place www.dawarvilla.com , basically did not know what to expect but the pictures you see on the site are in fact the room (and in fact only room!) you stay in. Staying here for 7 nights for the price of 6. Its in a quiet location just walking distance from the Bengali market. The owner is friendly enough (just keeps himself to himself and doesn't bother us which is fine by us!) and the 'boy' (as they refer to him, is a guy in his 30s who cooks our breakfast which is included in the price and its really good, so far only had aloo parathas though!). In the room, you've got free internet access, which is broadband, a 29inch tv with tata sky service, they've even got BBC entertainment channel! a microwave, a fridge, fax, phone, scanner and printer and a music system!! oh yeah and a/c and 2 fans!they don't have a restaurant though, only breakfast is cooked by their guy, but we ended up getting dominos delivered last night! You've also got a front and back balcony, basically the whole top floor to yourself. The only drawback back for me is the bathroom, you have to go outside to get to it and this morning there was a gecko there! But its clean and there are lights in the balcony area which we kept on overnight. Anyhow, just had to mention this place as you guys have provided some invaluable advice to me whilst l've been here and l can't believe l found this place, its really like living in your own place and l'd highly recommend it.
