New Delhi Railway Station is bang in the middle of downtown New Delhi. Nizamuddin Railway Station is also in New Delhi (south part of the city) and about 9 km from the New Delhi Railway Station.

The Delhi station is the "Old Delhi" Station which is at Old Delhi near Red Fort. PLease be specific if it is Old Delhi (Delhi) or New Delhi or if it is just nizamuddin. I guess you re talking about Old Delhi one.

Indian Railway says Delhi (DLI) for this station, not "Old Dehli" or "New Delhi" (NDLS). I tried looking for it on Google Earth. I found the New Delhi stationa and Nizamuddin, but not the Deli station. I'll look again, near the Red Fort. Thanks

Found it on Google Earth, across from the Old Mosque. It doesn't look to be too far from the New Delhi station, would you say 20-30 minutes by auto-rickshaw? Thanks wsminkapida for the clue.

Drew, you really should mention the departure time of the train, in this case it WILL make a difference, especially if it's a week day.
The Jaisalmer train departs at 17:45, rush hour time. No idea about an auto, but if you can take the busy metro, it's only 2 stops (about 5 minutes) from New Delhi to Old Delhi, I can't remember the name of the station at Old Delhi though. By the time you get into and out of the metro stations, it'll still take about 25-30 minutes from Paharganj to (Old) Delhi station, however, you won't have the pressure of praying the auto can get through the trafic. Either way, you should still plan to be at (Old) Delhi station by 17:00. |

Sorry, I live in a small town, traffic is never a consideration, except for days we have a football game. I will have to keep traffic in mind when I get to New Delhi and other larges towns.

![]() Yes you are right, MapMyIndia shows a metro station called "Delhi Main Metro" very close to Chandni Chowk. Looking at the official Phase I & II Metro Map, I can now see that it's been renamed "Chandni Chowk Metro" which may be more or less confusing! |
