Delhi Or Bust!
Holy Crap!I finally did it! I went out and bought the tickets to India. We have been planning a trip to Chennai and south for the past seven months. We have been checking out all the great information you have posted on Indiamike, we have read LP and Footprints and checked out almost every Indian website on the internet. So how come we are going to Delhi? The airfare was $700.00 cheaper. This will be our first trip so thought what the heck. India is India and we can take the train south if we want to as we will have a month to visit.
Oh! Oh! Think I'm becoming an India junkie.

Have a great trip! |

Thanks, I'm sure we will have a great trip.
We leave 24 Sept. via LA and Seoul and arrive the 26th. The weather should be a little cooler then it has been. |

glad to hear things working out -- all the best for a great trip!
for the rest of us travelling from western Canada, please tell us more about your ticket -- airline, price, agent etc -- if it is that much cheaper than the CDN$1700 you mentioned before, it sure sounds like a good deal! |

Thanks for the warm wishes.
I work with some folks who travel yearly to India and they suggested I contact Gill International Travel. They have offices in India, Toronto and Vancouver.Their Van.phone #604-324-3000 They use Asiana Airlines amongst others and the price is $1350.00 tax included. The savings will cover 1st class train to Goa and a bottle of Thumbsup cola. |

that is a good fare, even if you do have to go thru' LA. I was hoping the stronger Cdn$ would lower prices a bit this year, but the quote I got on Singapore was the same as last year. I'll check them out!
cheers! |
