Delhi nightlife

Hi everyone.

Im going to India(punjab) to visit family in October. I am hoping to visit Delhi for a few days during my visit, and am looking for some good bars or nightclubs in the city.

Can anybody please give me some advice about where to go? I heard the Delhi night scene is not as good as mumbai, but surely there must be somewhere? Somewhere that plays good music and has lots of females would be nice

Raj, you will find loads of guys looking for females and thats what makes it uncool...

Anyways there are loads of options in Delhi and Suburbs, there have been some other threads on this..however lemme name a couple of them..

This is 100% genuine and serious, i would appreciate your responses!!
Was in Delhi last April, went to a club in one of the southern suburbs on the sunday night. I was in india 2 years earlier and was in the same club then. As soon as i went in i was getting a lot of attention (30 year old white male). An indian family invited me over to join him and his family. He seemed nice but i though it strange that he had his wife and 2 young sons (who were sleeping) out with him, i remember him mentioning that they had school in the morning. Shortly before they left 2 young indian girls arrived in. I started talking with them and we got on really well. To cut a long story short, one of the girls ended up spending the night with me. I thought all my Xmas's had come at once. Im not a bad looking guy but this girl was beautiful and from my previous visit to India i knew it wasnt overly common for a western guy to hook up with an indian girl. The girl told me that i was the first white guy she was ever with and that i could have had her friend as they both fancied me. We parted company the next day with the intention of meeting up again later that evening. I rang an Indian friend of mine to tell him the good new and was a bit shocked by what he told me. Basically he said there was a very high chance that the girl was either a front for gangsters or a call-girl. No money was exchanged between me and the girl (she even paid for the auto-rickshaw home as i had no small change) or no harm came to me. I did see her and her friend talking to a group of indian guys earlier in the club and they didnt seem to be overly friendly.I found the girl to be a really smart intelligent and beautiful girl. After hearing what my indian friend had to say i was scared off and did not call the girl back. I felt guilty about that but what my friend told me really shocked me. So what do you guys think?? I am a very trusting person, did i have a lucky escape or did i miss out on a few really nice days with this girl??

Elevate and Sapphire are both pretty fun clubs. Except in Elevate some (indian) woman in a super low cut, super short, fire engine red dress wanted to fight with me because her guy was dancing with me. seems they were trying to make each other jealous cuz i saw her and her girlfriend who was also with a guy, doing the same thing. i suppose that's the drama of the bar scene. with alcohol in the mix, you never know what'll happen...

Butthead - from what i experienced, the (indian) women in the clubs are quite forward and flirtatious. i guess you'll never know now, since you didn't call her back. but sex with a willing partner and a stranger, perhaps specifically with a white guy (which makes you all the more a stranger), may have been her only motivation.

Thanks for the replies guys. Shashank, which of the clubs u mentioned is the best & most busiest? Also, where abouts is each club located?

The last time i came to Delhi(2005), i asked numerous taxi drivers to take me to a bar or a club. None of them knew where to go!! I managed to find one bar near Connought pl, and me & my friend where the only ones in there!!

Is there anywhere else i can find good looking single girls in delhi?

The scene is totally different from the western cities and dont come with any expectations...

As I told you that the sex ratio is already highly skewed in clubs and above that lot of cultural difference is there...!!

Elevates is in Noida, in Centerstage Mall

Delhi Devils and Lizard lounge are both located in South Extension Market.

Pegs & Pints is located in Forte Grand, in Chanakya Puri, Near Chanakya Cinema.

Sound of Music is the latest one on the block and is located in Vasant Kunj

Decibel is located in Hotel Ashok, DJinns in Hyatt, Dublin is is Maurya Sheraton, CJ's in Le-Meridien.

You can find some in MGF mall and City Center (both opposite each other) and Sahara mall... all three are less than 1 km of each other...few names I recall are, Europa lounge, Mojos, Crave (All in Gurgaon)

But please remember stag entry is generally a major problem specially on Fridays and Saturdays..the cover charges will vary between Rs.500 - 1500 depending on the night...

all of them in Delhi would close down around 2-3 am to the max, but in suburbs (Gurgaon and Noida) the action is on till 6 am...

Well the above mentioned are few of the ones I know and I am sure there are scores of them which I do not no..specially in suburbs of Gurgaon, Noida and Ghaziabad...

and still if it is said that Delhi has not much of night life then what can i do ??
