Delhi Local tourist

Hello ,

I have only 1-2 days in Delhi , it's not possible for me to arrange myself to see different places, in order to see more in the short time , someone suggest me to join the Local tour by the Goverment or Toursit , if anyone tried or know , please let me know .

Thanks a million .

I would personally hire a taxi for the day possibly through your Hotel and go to Old Delhi then get a rickshaw and tour through the old streets there, the Red Fort is nearby and you will get offers of a guide there which you can use. I find getting a tour guide for a couple of days limiting to me I prefer to go it alone and discover myself. Have a meal at Karims in Old Delhi

Although davey's suggestion is good and practical, I always enjoy the experience of tour bus where you can meet other people and enjoy the tour together.

If this is a first trip to Delhi, I would recommend the bus tour run by the tourism department.

I have taken a ITDC tour in Delhi. Also to Agra. Good idea if you are short of time, or just want a relaxed day out without (in my case) the hassle of driving.

the government site for Delhi tourism
http://delhitourism.nic.in/publicpage/howtomove.aspx

they have a link under "tour packages" for city tours, but its not working right now. there are some phone numbers too.

ps the link is working now see http://delhitourism.nic.in/publicpage/citysights.aspx

also see delhi by evening tour http://delhitourism.nic.in/publicpag...byevening.aspx
