Delhi Liquor Laws
So I read in one of the guidebooks that you have to be 25 in Delhi to drink alcohol - is this still true? If so, how strict are they? And if you are caught drinking and younger, what happens?
I'm going to be going to Delhi this weekend (all the people in the group are 22-23) and I'm wondering if we're going to have any issues getting into places like Elevate, etc. Thanks |

Depends on how you look if it is a borderline case. If they have a doubt they will stop you at the entrance and ask for some ID giving your date of birth. In good joints in Delhi the baksheesh may not work. Prayers might, cant tell you for certain.

I drank most days in Delhi and had no problem. I went to the bottle stores and pubs/restaurants, and no one at all looked for ID. It's kinda like a "Don't Ask & Don't Tell" policy. If you get asked for ID, that's an extremely rare case.
