Delhi - Late Night Airport Operations

Hello,

I just realized that I will be landing at the Delhi airport at 2:30 at night, or in the morning, however you prefer to say it. I have read that I can not bring any IR into the country, so I would need to exchange it when I got there. Are there 24/H exchanges at the airport? Are they more expensive than regular ones that would be open during the day? I read that some times people have trouble changing money at banks, so I want to avoid these problems. Also, will there be any problem changing money back when I leave or do they require me to account for every IR spent or not spent – some countries have rules like that. Thanks for your help!

Most Europepan flights tend to land between midnight and 03h . You´ll find a allnight (SBI , methinks) changing counter soon after reclaiming your baggage. You don´t have to account for all the money spent , but hold on to one slip for the re-exchange.

Look out for bills with holes (from being stapled) , you are supposed to be able to change them in a bank if all else fails.

The exchange desks at the airport will be open when you arrive. Don't change all your money at one time.

If you have an ATM card, bring that, and take money directly from your bank account; that works the best for most of us.
