| Delhi hotel-moderate $, family friendly I am new to posting and I think my first post was lost in the computer system crash. So here is my question: My husband, 9 O daughter and I are visiting Mumbai and Delhi in February. I am trying to find a reasonable (3 star?) clean hotel in a good location in Delhi for about a week. I am a wheelchair user so I am hoping to find a hotel with an elevator (although I expect some stairs at the entry...) Any suggestions would be appreciated. K |

| Hi KLB, Have a look at this hotel.... http://www.godwinhotels.com/index1.html Whilst I cannot vouch for the area, Ram Nagar, it is a polular area for lots of hotels, and is a good location with regard to its proximity to lots of tourist hotspots. I personally thought that the street it was in was busy and noisy but that is subjective! (the noise was not noticible once in the room though). The room and the hotel was very clean, the cleanest of all the hotels we used during our recent visit, I would recommend it!! |

| Blakey, did you take the weelchair access into account? Certainly tricky in India, ask and ask again. [*Well, there is an elevator I see now.]

| The hotel has one or two steps to get into the lobby, the door is always staffed so hopefully the doorman would/could help with a wheelchair. Actually, thanks for reminding me Machadinha, there is an elevator that gains access to all accomodation floors, but NOT the rooftop restuarant, to get to that you have to get the elevator to the fourth floor and then there is a final flight of stairs to the rooftop!! So no, unless you prefer room service (which I can vouch for, it is excellent!), then this hotel is not as wheelchair friendly as I first suggested, many apologies! Regards |
