delhi dog

on my way to office from dwarka, i noticed what appeared to be yet another dead dog lying in the centre of a busy road. only, as i passed it by, i saw it wasn't dead, but injured - possibly a broken leg from (I am guessing) having come under the wheels of a car or truck.

I took the next available U-turn and drove back, but was pleasantly surprised to see a scorpio and a sumo had got there before me. By the time I had taken a second U-turn and got to the spot, they had taken away the dog.
They didn't look like undercover operatives for the Moran market, so I'd assume they took it to a hospital.

But this begs the question: what number does one call for animal emergencies?
