hello india-fans
i am visiting india this summer, and looking for information. i got information on internet that there is the bus from conaught place to the airport which goes every 25 minutes 24 hours. is it true? if so, does anyone know where exactly is the bus stop around C.P.? my friend wants to catch a flight from delhi to varanasi departing 12:55. what is the most reasonable (in all sense) way to reach airport? ![]()

Hi Ayako,
Since you haven't been answered yet, yes there used to be 24/7 buses to the airport, and as far as I know there still are, don't know about frequency though. Any hotel will be able to tell you where on CP to get them, there used to be several buses so best to make local enquiries. Your friend has to make very sure he's taken to the domestic terminal! edit: Just to complicate things I see now it used to be some Indian Airlines domestic flights used to leave from the international terminal... Anyone with recent updates on Delhi airport layout? The two terminals used to be quite a long way apart, there are shuttles but if you're late don't get dropped off at the wrong one. Haha LP has a line about autorickshaws also going out there, "although your teeth will be shaking by the time you get there!" Just made me laugh as I seem to remember doing that once, or part of the way anyway. A rickshaw at full throttle on the highway is truly something else ![]()

perhaps spend a (relatively small) amount of money and hire a taxi cab! You won't have to worry about arriving late. It's probably less than the price of a starbucks latte in Japan

Ayako:
Welcome to IM. Echoing what iyou said, take a taxi instead. But allow for a lot of leeway.. like an hour atleast, traffic entering G'gaon can be 'baka' sometimes. Oh and another IMer from Japan... Hajimemashite/Namaste!!

EATS does not go 24/7 anymore.
From memory the last bus to the airport leaves at 9:30pm. Anyway, you message didn't say whether it is 12:55 am or pm. If its pm then this EATS bus will be possible. Price is 50Rs + 10Rs/piece of luggage. I remember organising a taxi at 11pm for about 300Rs from my hotel last time. |
