Sorry to be a bit off topic but I had to post this. A good example of how firangs see the desh. Guess they start hearing that music too in background. hehe. It's brilliant. Love the expression on their faces and I love the kid.

Haha you should tell him you're going there to see the place instead of saying you're taking the metro to the airport?

To chaiji, sorry I can't help you on that. I didn't take the metro from New Delhi that day, took from Rajiv Chowk instead. Could anyone else help him with that?

Hi Chaiti,

Yes, I've heard Metro starts at 6 am, so it would be available then. It'll take only 5 minutes for you to reach the Metro Station to catch the train for Dwarka.

Metro terminates at T3. Catch the shuttle bus from there to T1.

Thanks Meeone. Problem is that we arrive NDLS at 7.30 and our flight is at 11. God forbid but if the train gets delayed our trip would go for a toss. Will it be better to hire a bus from NDLS straight to T1? How much time will a bus drive take ?

The metro is the fastest way to get to the airport ... avoiding the traffic.

The shuttle bus departs every 15 minutes, or when full, which ever is earlier - 10 minutes journey. Since your group is of 30 pax, the bus will be full and depart immediately. You may have to report at around 10 am, so plenty of time if your train is on time, or even delayed by an hour or so.

@Barkha:
Directly Check in from New Delhi Metro stn and take a ride in Airport Metro Express. It takes 22 minutes and fare is 80 Rs. From NDLS to Metro stn you do not have to take much trouble.Take exit from platform no 16 side ( opposite of paharganj side).Take escalator.just a few steps walk to reach metro stn.

I'm arriving at the domestic airport from Guwhati at 5pm Monday.
I wish to take the metro to New Delhi train station.
Can I just take the shuttle bus to the international airport without showing an onward flight ticket to just catch the metro?

Cheers
Howie

Don't about the GMR shuttle (Which is free) but you can certainly take the DTC bus for Rs. 25/- I recently did it.
I did not fully understand the dread term "Terminal Illness" until I saw Terminal 1 D of Delhi Airport.

Thanks Delhiwala,

I was not sure if you needed a flight ticket to get into the International Airport to catch the metro but apparently not.

I am looking forward to travelling on the new line.
