Delhi accomodation
any fellow India travellers recommend a hotel in Delhi for July?
I am arriving quite late, alone and would preferably like a place that does airport pick-ups! have looked in good `ol LP but I am somewhat overwhelmed by the choices. Do you guys think its necessary to book? I guess July is low -season (weather and all). muchos gracias tanpopo |

My wife & I are going in October, arriving in delhi and I have booked us into the Hotel Syal which is just up the road from Panarganj area. It is a tourist class hotel and we are paying $56 US for a double for 2 nights with breakfast with an airport pickup for $15US. They have a web site and get a mention in LP north India. The place seems nice enough.
You can book and pay for the hotel over the web/fax. Hope this helps the web site is www.hotelsyal.com I know that the $15 US for the pick up is probably a bit over the odss but is is a private pickup going straight to the Hotel without any of the "hotel closed" scam bullshit attached so frankly I can't be buggered worrying about a few bucks.

It really depends on your taste, what area of the city you want to explore, and your budget.
I stayed in Paharganj for two days at hotel NAmskar ( In LP) 200 rupees a night aand airport pickup I think was 400 rupees I am now staying in East Patel Nagar at Hotel Rangoli for 1200 rupees a night, but that tab is being picked up by the computer school I am attending. There are tons of options... Book a room for 2 days and than see the city. You will find out where you feel comfortable, and stop in a various places to check ot prices. |

It was my good fortune to stay at the Grand New Delhi Hotel. It is not too far from the airport and if you stay on the "Grand Club" floor your airport pickup will be complimentary. The best part of your stay will be the staff. They will do whatever it takes to make sure that you have a wonderful stay. The staff will treat you with care and kindness.
Best of Luck to you. I am returning in mid June and I am looking forward to seeing them again. |
