Dealing with over zealous men

So I went to my kathak class last night and a woman was telling me about her trip to delhi and that a man pinched her butt on the street, and another woman who said the same thing.(apparently this is the norm) Okay now assuming this kind of behavior seems to be frequent how does someone handle, I have heard everything from smack them to do nothing any advice?

i won't even get into the passport page stealing thing that goes on at the airport, lucky for me i am 6 foot one and there is no counter immigration can make that i can't see over.

Well, I think that the moment you realise someone acting funny just start shouting at the top of your voice and see the reaction on the guys face and most probably there will be someone who will help you out by giving the guy a shouting or thrashing!!! If that does not happen then you know you are not in a good locality!!! But seeing your height of six foot one not many may meddle with you!!! Hope it does not happen though it is quite the norm in Delhi more than other places especially with foreigners. Have a safe journey wherever you go and take care!!!

Cheers,
Aadil.

Yes, I am curious to know more about the pages from passport being stolen. I have a US passport and I know those are very much in demand in the black market.

i don't think you will have to worry too much about butt pinching on the street.

Many a times passport pages with visas which are very much in demand are removed and then the unsuspecting victim is forced to pay a large amount to get a new passport made as the one without the visa pages are useless as it is damaged and mutilated. This happens in some cases when you don't pay attention to what the immigration officer is doing under the guise of checking your passport under his well covered desk!!! So that's where your height comes in to help you see what he is upto. HAHAHA!!! Be careful when you take back your passport, I always check where the guy has stamped the passport and whether the pages are all intact. Hope you understand what she was trying to say now!!!

Cheers,
Aadil.

In a total 8 months in India, I've only been groped/pinched two or three times (that I was aware of) - perhaps it's time for a makeover!
Every time I made a massive deal out of it though, smacking the guy and yelling etc. They always looked pretty embarrased so I hope they'll at least think twice about it next time they see a lone foreign girl

however they are using it the passports wud be tampered and we will have to face the hassles thereafter so we better follow "check after stamping" strategy. thanks for the info aadil.

I cant imagine you will have a problem then! but if you do get pinched, give the pincher a nipple cripple. that'll sort him out
