Day trip or weekend trip suggestions from Delhi?
Time to get away from the heat and explore some more of India during my last bit of time here. Any suggestions for places to hit for a day or overnight or a weekend? Preferably not too expensive to get to/stay at?

Shimla might be good, or Mussoorie. As for budget, not sure exactly... 5-10k I guess? I was looking in the paper and Thailand trips for 5nights are in the 25-26k range, with hotel and airfare. Not sure how that is compared to normal or if that IS the normal price...
But as for local, the idea is to get away from the heat so Amritsar probably won't do, but still good for a day trip I think. Shimla is possible, a friend suggested Manali. Agra is probably just as bad as Delhi, minus the rain (or is it going to be raining there too soon?).
Is Thailand worth the trip this time of year or is it just as hot?
