Hi all, myself and my friends would love to do a cookery session in Dehli - any idea who might do such a thing?

Traditional cooking, just for a couple of hours.

Well i know good courses run by reputed institutes but they are for week full time or 1 hour daily for months.I do not know in couple of hour what skills can be mastered.what is your background are you already doing some basic indian cooking and want to learn some particular recipe.

Will a recipe for Dal makhani and Tandoori Nan/roti do or simple ones like chicken tikka or paneer tikka is the need.

Do you want to learn about rice, briyani and pulav ,veg & non veg, with or without accompning roganjosh curry or mutton stew.

then butter chicken and baingan (eggplant) bhartha with tawa roti comes to my mind.Romali roti is another trick which can come by practice.

PLus there is whole range of south indian dishes like dosa, idily, utthpam, rasam and sambhar e.t.c.

now there are gujrati/ rjasthani dishes like dhokla and dal bati e.t.c

these are very few indian dishes out of numerous recipies possible.
what exactly is you requirment only then i can suggest appropriate place according to your needs.

Perfect Cookery

You can try Perfect Cookery in the GK1 market. I'm not sure if she does single day classes but her website lists being available for private cooking class parties.

Perfect Cookery Classes, Greater Kailash I Market - Ph. 6413538, 6476968, 6287792

I figured she could enquire about a private single class - since she's willing to do private parties why wouldn't the owner/teacher do a party of 1 as long as her price/quote was met?

I read her private party info to mean just that [at least in american english ] - that she would teach a group at a party. It was all the rage in certain circles in the US a few years back and the way I read her info I figured this instructor had jumped on that bandwagon!

If she meant non-affiliated with a school program as private parties but still as a long term commitment - then I whole heartedly admit to being mistaken.

I mentioned this in another post as well.

Nestle India runs a program called Family Nestle - and their biggest activity happens to be cooking classes. They have 2 types - One where you attend the sessions which have been organized in Delhi or Gurgaon and second where you send in a request for a cooking class to be done at your home (terms and conditions apply)

The link to the Family Nestle website is

http://nestle.in/nestle_kitchen/home.aspx

You can call up the Nestle Careline and ask them for additional details.
