Coming to Delhi

I am planning a trip to Delhi from Bangalore in 2007 Aug end.Can anyone clarify these?

1.A decent hotel to stay with my family in Karol Bagh area (is this closer to the railway station too?).I am looking at an accomodation of around Rs.1000 per day (including taxes).

2.I was told that I can hire a prepaid taxi to my hotel room

3.How far is Karol Bagh from Delhi airport?

4.I plan to go to Jaipur the next day.Is there any advance booking required or can we board the bus from the ISBT (a volvo a/c coach) Jaipur.

5.Again, after coming back to Delhi, I plan to visit Agra.I plan to book the arly morning Shatabdi (will reach Agra at around 8.30 AM)
Should I get down at Agra Cant?

6.Is there any UP tourism trip schedules for Agra and Fatehpur Sikri avialable?How long will it take to cover all.I want to come back to Delhi the same day.

I will answer only a few questions.
Yes you can & you should take a pre-paid taxi from the airport to your hotel
Karol Bagh is about 18KMS from the airport. Karol Bagh has metro connectivity with new Delhi station & CP.
Go to the Rajasthan tourism & transport office in Bikaner House near India Gate and book your Volvo bus for Jaipur a day prior to your date of departure.
Hire a local cab in Agra for sight seeing. This way you can comfortably see the sights in Agra. Many local tour operators operate bus tours but do not go to Fathepur Sikri which is out of town. Most people do Taj-Agra Fort-Fathepur Sikri-Agra
Since you will go to Jaipur next day why return to Delhi? You can go to Jaipur from Agra.

Further to Karol Bagh - I don't know a hotel where you could get a room for 1000 rupees - they have this extra tax on top of this making it up to a minimum that I can figure of 1300 - 1500 rupees. I have now moved out to Likir House, where a double is 1050 but this is in the Lajpat Nagar area. A single is only 850 rupees with a/c. I find it convenient to the airport and easy to travel by auto rickshaw to Pragati Maiden for fast metro into CP.
If anyone knows a cheap hotel in Karol Bagh I would also be interested because I like staying in that area but it is now becoming too expensive for me.
