cinema scam
just thought id warn those up for a bollywood experience in delhi about a little scam i came across...
at pvr plaza cinema (i cant speak for the others), due to the delhi bombings, security has gotten a lot tighter. as a result, u cant take bags (incl cameras and pretty much all of their contents) in with you. i was unaware of this until i got there with my bag, laden with all of my valuables. the securtity guard (in full uniform and looking very official) was very stern with me and told me i couldnt take it in and that i had to leave it with a man who was sitting on the street behind a random dodgy looking desk. i dug my heels in (as did he) and blantantly refused. eventually (after about 20 minutes of arguing!) he let me through and sure enough there was a legit locker system at the top which the cinema had organised. the cinema didnt actually give a shit when i told them about it. so a piece of advice, leave ur bag at the hotel and avoid the drama... |

This is the scene at other cultural events too. At some places they dont allow cigerettes & lighters too. Lighters & matches are banned on person or in the cabin baggage while flying. I have donated many lighters to various airlines.

- In the same vien avoid the chai, biskut, roti, pani, plane, autorickhaw, hotel, mandir, ..., ..., ..., ... - If in a similar situation again, instead of wasting time with the guards.. go to the ticket counter and ask them what you can do. They know English better than the guards and would have told you of the lockers inside in the first place. - Do not go to any other cinema than the PVR types.. a lot more problems there. - India is the opposite of Utopia.
