What your friend said could be Essex farm. Lots of activities there and gourmet food store. It is near what is called IIT gate on Aurobindo Marg.

Its on the main road thaht connects AIIMS to Mehrauli, its bang on the lest side of the road, once you cross the outer ring road, while coming from AIIMS side.

I was there last month, and I did see the bowling being offered, however did not check it out. It would be better you call them and ask them what all things they have to offer.

Adjusted the thread title to reflect the new information.

I just can't believe there's an Essex in India!

Essex girls?

Can you believe that there is a street called Via Bengali in Rome?

Many property developers specialise in these kinds of hopefully grandoise names. Gurgaon outside Delhi is full of them, and so are new 'gated communities' on the fringes of Hyderabad.

I saw 'River View Apartments' in Delhi once, overlooking a dirty 'nullah' (drainage system).

Well, at least there was the nullah. I grew up in a development called "Woodcrest" which was not on a crest (it was as flat as a pancake) and there were no woods whatsoever in sight.

Via Bengali? Where I live now, there's a Ganges Avenue about two blocks away. There are no other streets with an Indian theme or a river theme -- developers do that in the U.S.: streets with all tree names, streets named after States/countries/U.S. Presidents, etc., etc. -- so I don't know what inspired "Ganges" in this case.

There's a modest-sized appartment block on the Old Mahabalipuram Road here called "Homestead"

This dual-carriage-way road was only tarred (paved?) a few months back, and these particular flats were in the news last year, complaining that it was not possible to reach the road without wading through a pool of sewage caused by those working on the road breaking the pipes. It is also surrounded by building sites.

I noticed last week how, despite the grim nature of it's environment (IT companies, industry and building sites), it's own small plot has been beautifully planted with shrubs and plants. The residents have made the name come true.

Heart-warming
