Bars in Delhi

I know this is a bit of an LP question but can anyone recommend a good bar in Delhi? I would like to stay away from the expensive hotel bars. I am arriving on Saturday and could do with a beer or two.
Thanks
Rob

again beer....

Hi Rob, again this "Gerstenkaltschale" as we call it...; it's difficult with a bar in Delhi. If you are arriving before 11 pm - and this means coming out of the customs(!) you might have luck at C-Block Market - Vasant Vihar, Mini Mahal. The guys are nice, the atmosphere is good - but the owner is still on bail (like me anyhow - due to train tickets) or "wanted" due to betting on cricket etc.
Otherwise try "TGI"s" near Vasant Continental - but this is not a truly Indian experience.

TGI's, though not authentic by any means, does serve Guinness Beer (real expensive) so just for that it get's my thumb's up.

Bars in Delhi

Hello Rob

This is slightly off the subject as I don't usually visit bars, although I do originally come from Ireland!

The United Coffee House, on Connaught Circle serves beer in very pleasant surroundings, also really good coffee and is patronised by Indians and foreigners. Check it out if you are going to be in Delhi for a few days.

Good travelling

most bars in delhi have happy hours between 4pm-8pm including TGIF, Ruby Tuesday etc, usually buy one, get one free on most drinks. A good bar is Geoffreys and Ansal Plaza at the Asiad Village in South Delhi

I can reccomend one of the sleepiest of bars in Delhi:

The Hotel Marina in CP.

If you fancy a quiet drink - you will have the place to yourself any night of the week! (And its pretty cheap)
