Ashtanga, Bikram, Power Yoga or Vinyasa in New Delhi (East Patel Nager)

I just arrived in Delhi and it is pretty chaotic! Would love to sign up for yoga asap..so i can relax a bit and work off all of this Naan i've been eating!!

Does anyone know of a good yoga place near East Patel Nager- any yoga is fine, I'm a beginner, however a yoga that can help with weightloss and toning would be even better, ( although I'm sure yoga contributes to this!) Also anyone know the typical cost for yoga classes?

Thank you!!!

sorry, this isn't delhi-related, but on a more general note...

when looking for yoga classes, don't limit yourself to the fancier kind of gym/yoga studio-based classes... these can cost and arm and a leg and aren't necessarily superior to yer humbler options.

i attend a daily yoga class (1 hour, 6 days a week) which i held in a nearby school, along with a motley crue of locals of varying ages and abilities. in my opinion, the teacher is good and... i only pay 200 rupees per month!

(having said this, i think he is actually overcharging me slightly, compared to what the rest of the class pays - but i'm more than happy to turn a blind eye, bearing in mind that it's more than 20 hours of yoga instruction for next to nothing!)

i know for a fact that there are at least 3 or 4 other local classes that are similar to the one i attend, and suspect that the situation wouldn't be too different in delhi.

if you really want to go for it, another option that you could consider is private tuition - which is, as in terms of cost and availability, a pretty attractive alternative in india, as compared to in europe.

good luck, i hope you find something that suits you!
