Arriving in Delhi (Going from Airport to train Station)

Hi,

I will arrive at Delhi Airport at 4.30 am on sunday the 6 of march. I should still be alive after a 28 hours journey from Montreal.

From the airport, I would like to go to the New Delhi Railway Station, not to take a train but to get rid of my luggage (just one small size) until I find a Hotel.

I would like to know if there is a safe left-luggage office in the train station. If not, where should I leave my luggage near the station?

I read that the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) run a bus from the airport to the train station. Is it a acceptable alternative to Taxis?

Any advice (and price) on a clean hotel on Paharganj would be more than welcome.

As per the rules, you need to have a valid train journey ticket to keep your luggage in cloak room at railway station. If you have a valid train journey ticket you will be allosed to keep the luggage or else its going to be a problem.

No place in delhi is safe to keep your luggage.... please take care.....

After 28 hours of journey, DTC bus is not a good option, i'll advice for taxi.

I think you are giving yourself unneccessary problems here.

Why don't you take a prepaid taxi to Paharganj, perhaps with someone else off your flight.

Check our hotels section on this site and decide where you might like to stay.

We usually stay at the RAK International and a room with attached bathroom, hot shower and TV will cost you about 300rupees.

Remove your flight labels before you walk down Paharganj as these attract hotel touts like wasps to jam. Tell them you've already booked your hotel and try not to look dazed and confused - difficult I admit after a 28 hour journey!
